As I read this I thought about one of my own struggles as a parent, trying to raise my children to be loving and caring while at the same time preparing them for a world that can sometimes be cold and cruel.

I hope that this can help bring a sense of closure to the Walsh family, but I no fist hand that there is nothing like heartache of losing a child.

Thanks for sharing this :)

It's funny how your persepctive changes once you become aparent. I was one when this happened so I don't remembe it, but I do remember my mom talking about it years later - which I thought was strange when I was a kid.

Now that I am mom, I totally understand the fear.

I remember hearing about those stories too. But here in MN we had our own scare. We lived 30 mins away from St. Joseph MN were Jacob Wettlering was kidnapped. He was 12.

Thanks for posting this. I saw this on the news last night but only caught part of it. I was in Jr. High when this happened and just can't believe it's been that long. Closer to home, Morgan Nick was kidnapped in '95 and she's not been found yet. This is just a few miles from our home. It terrified me to let my kids play out in the front yard for a long time after that. I still shake my head in wonder at the parents that leave their kids unattended at the park or ballgames. I still keep my windows open and stay at the front of the house checking on them, and they're teens!
