Candied Sweet Potato Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 medium sweet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  • Cook sweet potatoes covered in boiling water until tender, 20 – 25 minutes.
  • Drain.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Peel.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cut potatoes into ½ inch thick slices.
  • In a casserole dish, layer half the sweet potatoes, half the brown sugar, and half the butter.
  • Repeat layers. 
  • Bake until potatoes are glazed, about 30 – 35 minutes.  1 or 2 times during cooking, spoon glaze over potatoes.
