Election Related YouTube Videos I Have Found Interesting

October 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Here are a few YouTube videos I have found interesting regarding the McCain-Palin Obama-Biden election of 2008.

The first is this video questioning whether Sen. Obama can be a legitimate candidate for President of the United States and whether or not he is truly a natural born US citizen. I have read some of the posts on the obamalies.com website and the responses from factcheck.org. The conservative blog, American Thinker, thinks it could be the October surprise. I have no idea if the attorney filing this suit is a crazy kook or if he has a legitimate complaint.  I honestly do not think the DNC would let a candidate get this far in the process if he is not truly and legitimately qualified.  Regardless, it should be interesting to see whether the courts dismiss the suit or not.   (This one is a bit long.  If you only have time to watch 1 video, watch this one because I’d like to read your comments on it.)

The second video is of McCain supporters marching in Manhattan while being repeatedly “booed.” Of course the Republicans are a minority in New York. What I find most interesting is that I live in a red, red, red county in a red state (over 75% of my county voted for Bush in 2004) and there are a few brave Obama supporters around. I say “brave” because it cannot be easy to put out a Democratic sign in our county knowing that at least 7 out of 10 of your voting neighbors disagree with you. Still, we are in the South where good manners are a instilled in us from a very young age. We are taught to say yes ma’am, no ma’am, yes sir, no sir, thank you, please, and have a nice day. We smile and wave to people we pass on the street. While I know there would be people who would boo and give these Obama supporters the finger, for the most part we act polite to one another even when we disagree. So, I found it interesting the way these brave McCain supporters were treated in New York.

Here are 4 disconcerting videos.  2 Obama supporter videos show the indoctrination of children in the campaign.  The other 2 videos pointing out similarities to other leaders in the past. My husband and I are very active in the Republican Party. Our 5 year old children know we are supporting the McCain-Palin ticket and we have explained why on a very basic level.  They are friends with many of the other local candidates we support. Still, my husband and I work very hard not to cram our political views down their throats. While we have taught our children to pledge their allegiance to the flag and to worship and pray to God, we would NEVER have them singing their support to a candidate. It is too reminiscent of socialist and dictator regimes.

Additionally, it is dangerous for any candidate to be put on such a high pedestal. Politicians are only human and they are going to make mistakes. The higher the pedestal we put them on, the further they fall when they inevitably make mistakes.

Have you watched this final video about history of the housing market crisis?
