GigglyGirl Loses Her First Tooth

August 12th, 2008 · 3 Comments

GigglyGirl lost her first tooth last Wednesday.  She started kindergarten and lost her first tooth all in the same week.  It has, obviously, been loose for a little while.  She did not want anyone to pull it.  When she came home from school on Wednesday, she began crying because the tooth was hurting her mouth.  We told her that if we pulled the tooth out it would stop hurting.  She agreed to let us pull it out.  I held her still and Mr. Right tried to touch it to see how loose it was.  He told her what he was trying to do.  GigglyGirl said, “I can show you with my tongue.”  Then she pressed it flat at a 90 degree angle with her tongue.  Mr. Right moved his finger across it and it just fell out.  When she realized it fell out, she started crying all over again (she had mixed feelings though because she was excited about the Tooth Fairy coming for a visit).

Here she is right after the tooth came out.

That is SUCH a great photo! The expression of dismay mixed with a little bit of excitement is fantastic.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Shannon. Everyone in my family loves this photo too. As soon as the tooth was out, GigglyGirl had to get her blankie before she could have her photo taken.
