#dontgo Movement - U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey at a McCain Rally

August 11th, 2008 · No Comments

This is a 2 minute video I recorded on August 5, 2008 at a rally for the McCain campaign in Cobb County Georgia. The speaker in the video is U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey. He’s been in politics around my area for several years, and I’ve been fortunate enough to work with him on many occasions over those years. Prior to getting into politics he worked as an Ob/Gyn and delivered thousands of babies in Marietta, Georgia. Which, if you think about it, is an excellent strategy for getting votes. It’s hard to vote against the Doctor who delivered you into the world. But he’s also a great guy.

The subject of his speech is the recent failure of Congress (under the leadership of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) to pass an energy bill and do something to address the major issue of America’s oil supply and energy needs. It’s the first time in years and years that Congress has left for vacation without passing such a measure. Congressman Gingrey urges everyone to contact Nancy Pelosi at 202-224-3121 and ask her to call Congress back from their 5 week vacation for a special session to work on the problem. In the speech he also references Democrat Presidential Candidate Barack Obama’s suggestion that we could solve the energy crisis by having everyone make sure their tires are properly inflated.

Plus, here’s a link to a more detailed post I wrote regarding the #dontgo movement.
