Our next door neighbors have installed a new garden pond with fish in it in their backyard. The other day as GigglyGirl and BusyBoy were playing outside, our next door neighbor told the children they will have to come over to look at the fish sometime. There is a fence separating our yard and the children know they cannot go over it without permission. They have been asking to go look at the fish ever since and we have told them we will have to wait until the neighbors are outside again to do it.
Today, as GigglyGirl and BusyBoy were outside playing they threw a baby doll into the next door neighbor’s yard. They came running inside and said, “Our doll is in the next door neighbor’s yard. We need to go over the fence to get it. While we are over the fence, can we look at the fish?”
They are smart and only 5. What are we going to do when they are 15?
BTW, Mr. Right got the doll and restated the rule about when they could go look at the fish.
