If you’re using wordpress.org as your blog engine on your own hosting plan, you can actually transfer all your existing posts and comments to your new blog location within the wordpress.com interface.

I’m another GoDaddy believer. It’s cheap, and has all the functions and services you need for your blog and more.

5. If you did not have your site professionally designed, did you modify a template and how did you go about designing your own site?

I’m too lazy to design the entire theme so I take a free theme that I like and change the images, text size, colours and others to my liking (of coz still giving credit to the orig designer). It does require a bit of CSS/HTML knowledge.

The WP install has an import option that allows you to bring in all of your posts from this blog. I did it a year ago and I love it!

You can actually leave it at wordpress and just get your own domain name at godaddy.com for $10, unless you just want to leave wordpress. As for design, I just had mine redone YESTERDAY and it only cost $15! The lady I worked with was amazing, she understood what I wanted and did I mention, it only cost $15 for an awesome header?
