Jen,
I do have goals that are obtainable and with in my means. I think it is good to push yourself for things that you don’t have. This makes life more adventuresome. However, if your family struggles, then you have to back up and re-group. Sometimes as parents and wives we must look after the well being of our children and husbands more so than ourselves. I do not walk through life “aimlessly”. I have a great job, and also have a family life. Both are possible. I’m glad you have a consulting buisness, but from reading your blog, it seems that is not providing for your dreams and family consistently.

Barbara, I have found in my life that even if I set lofty goals and fall short, I have gone further than I would have without any goals at all. What about you? Do you have goals or do you just wander through life aimlessly?

Thanks for the advise about a job. I do have a stable job (a real job in the real world) as a political consultant doing campaign consulting and constituent services.

Seems like there are lots of lofty goals, and unrealistic expectations. Perhaps a stable job for you (while your Mr. Right seeks employment) would increase your likelihood of making your dreams come true. It sounds like you have lots of hidden talents that could be utilized in the real world at a real job.
