Every night before our prayers we discuss what we are thankful for from that day.  Then we thank God specifically for these things in our prayers.  BusyBoy and GigglyGirl say Thank You instead of Thankful, hence the name Thank You Journal rather than Gratitude Journal.  This year, I think we will cover an old journal with a brown grocery bag.  Next we will decorate the grocery bag to make it special for us.  Then each day in the next year we can write down what we are thankful for each evening.
