Their Faces Lit Up Like Sparklers

October 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

 NC Sparkler No Flash

Recently, we were late getting BusyBoy and GigglyGirl to bed.  Since it was dark out and it has not really been dark before bedtime for them in awhile, I decided to get some sparklers out and let them see what they look like.  They have never seen sparklers before and were quite impressed.

As soon as the first one lit up, they both kind of jumped back and then GigglyGirl got to hold one first.  She enjoyed it very much.  BusyBoy looked a little bit frightened each time Mr. Right would hand him his sparkler and then his face would light up as bright as the sparkler.

Everytime a sparkler burned out, they were ready to do another one.  They really had a lot of fun with this.  Mr. Right and I enjoyed watching their excitement.

Nothing better than the look of joy and excitement from a new experience on children’s faces! I love spontaneous moments with my family, too. :)

I remember how fun it was to write my name in the air with a sparkler.

Great post! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for visiting my site. Yes, I’m an Asbury alum. Graduated in 1998, whew, it’s been a while! Hope your brother is enjoying it – I grew so much while I was there.

That is an awesome picture! I used to love sparklers, too, when I was growing up.

How fun! We usually don’t think of those except on the 4th. I grew up in a windy place and those were the only firework type thing we could keep lit and that was a battle. Thanks for sharing.

Sparklers are so fun, but I think my 5 year old may hate them forever. This year she managed to reach up and grab one that had already gone out before we could stop her and burnt her hand. After that, she didn’t even want to watch anyone else play with them.

Great idea to pull out sparklers for no apparent reason but to have fun. Children get the greatest pleasure out of the simplest of things.
