Baked Apples

Ingredients:

  • 5 medium apples
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  • Core and peel apples and cut into thick chunks.
  • Arrange in 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Sprinkle over apples.
  • Dot with butter and sprinkle with water.
  • Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until apples are soft but not mushy.

This recipe freezes well.  Freeze in Ziploc or FoodSaver bags.  Defrost before serving and heat in microwave safe bowl until throughly heated.
