Laura at The Lazy Organizer is starting a new blog carnival today, Talk about Tuesday. Be sure to check it out.
BusyBoy and GigglyGirl often make up silly words. For instance the other day BusyBoy said, ”Mommy, do you know what a whiddletat is?” “No, BusyBoy, what is a whiddletat?” “A whiddletat is someone who rides on a bubble.” BusyBoy has not mentioned the word whiddletat again. It was just something silly he made up and forgot.
Later that same morning as Mr. Right took them to preschool he heard them talking in the back seat.
GigglyGirl: “BusyBoy, do you know what a ‘fart’ is?”
BusyBoy: “No, what is a fart?”
GigglyGirl: “A fart is someone who helps someone else.”
BusyBoy: “Oh, so are you my fart?”
GigglyGirl: “Yes and you are my fart.”
BusyBoy: “We are each other’s farts.”
Mr. Right decided not to correct them right then by telling them what a fart really is. Just like with whiddletat, they have not mentioned the word again.
So, are you anybody’s fart? What words do your children make up?

My 3 year old grandson doesn’t say grandma correctly – it comes out Fwahma!

That’s hilarious! My kids used to say the funniest words when they were learning to rhyme. We didn’t correct them when bad words came up because they soon forgot about them.

My son hasn’t made up any words but instead of grandma & grandpa he says andma & andpa, shake used to sound like the ‘S’ word.

Kids are so funny and cute at the same time. My favorite made up word was when Gracie used to say “I have powers!” whenever she would pick flowers in the garden.
