Garage Sale

October 8th, 2007 · No Comments

The garage sale this past weekend was a HUGE success.  We have so much more space in our house now.  All of the infant and toddler clothes are gone.  The 8 computers we were selling are gone.  All of the 3 ring binders and hanging file folders are gone.  I have tons EMPTY Rubbermaid containers again.

The infant and toddler clothes were really concerning me late Saturday morning.  They take up so much space.  I needed the clothes out of the house to have the space to setup my home office for the political consulting that we are doing.  We were selling the clothes $1 each for the 0 – 6 months and $4 each for the 6 month to 4T.  We sold quite a bit but there were still bins full of clothes.  Our neighborhood has a spring garage sale so we thought we might have to pull them back out in April.

Then around 1:00 on Saturday a lady came in and made an offer for the entire lot.  She is going to ship the clothes to her brother and sister in Columbia for them to give out at Christmas time to the children in the village.  The thought of the clothes sitting in my basement versus being given away to children who truly need clothes was a no-brainer.  I am so glad that they are going to be put to good use.
